Getting started
What EducationPals is and how to begin. · 5 articles
What is EducationPals?
EducationPals is a learning platform built around practical, AI-focused courses. You read lessons in a focused reading studio, check what you have learned with quizzes and flashcards, and ask an AI tutor (Atlas) when something is unclear.
The platform also has a catalog of courses, AI articles and a jobs board. Your dashboard keeps your courses, notes, bookmarks, progress and achievements in one place.
How do tips, tours and Explore work?
New to EducationPals? Your agenda offers a one-minute tour of the app the first time you arrive: it points at the sidebar, Explore, course search, the help menu, your notifications and your account menu, one at a time. Use the arrow keys or Next to move on, and Esc to leave at any point.
The help menu (the ? at the top of every page) has "Show me around this page" for a page's own tour, "Help for this page" for the articles that explain it, and "What you can do", which opens Explore: every feature in one place, with a tick on the ones you have already tried.
Your agenda also shows a "Try next" card with three things you have not tried yet. Close it with ✕ and it stays closed. To see the tour and the card again, go to Settings › Profile and choose "Show tips again".
How do I create an account or sign in?
Choose Sign in or Get started on the home page. You can sign up with your email address, and you can also connect a social account from your profile to sign in faster later.
After you sign up you land on your dashboard. If you forget your password, use the reset option on the sign-in page. You can change your password and set up two-factor authentication any time in Settings, under Security.
How do I start my first course?
Open Courses from the dashboard or the public catalog, pick a course and choose Start Reading. Every account can start the Start Here course, Mastering AI with EducationPals, for free.
Lessons open in the studio, where you read at your own pace. Your place is saved as you go, so you can stop and come back with Resume Reading.
What are the questions asked when I start a course?
Some courses begin with a few short questions about where you are starting from, such as your work, goals and available time. They are optional and you can skip any of them; the course works the same, with general examples.
The AI tutor uses a detail only after you confirm it, and you can change or remove what you shared at any time in Settings.
Courses and lessons
Finding, starting and resuming courses. · 5 articles
How do I find a course?
Browse the catalog from Courses on the public site or from Browse Courses in your dashboard. You can search by topic and open a course page to see what it covers before you start.
Course pages show whether a course is included in the free plan or needs a paid plan.
How do I enroll in a course and pick up where I left off?
Choose Start Reading on a course page to enroll. The course then shows up under My Courses in your dashboard.
To return later, open your dashboard and choose Resume Reading on the course. It takes you to the lesson you were last reading.
Which courses are free and which need a plan?
The Start Here course, Mastering AI with EducationPals, is free on every account. Browsing the catalog is free too.
Other courses need a paid plan. A course page tells you what it requires, and you can compare plans on the pricing page.
What is a build-along?
A build-along is a hands-on project that goes with a course. You build something real in a practice workspace, step by step, and log what happened as you go.
Builds can be set up from optional details about your kind of work. Connections to outside tools such as email or spreadsheets are simulated in the sandbox, so nothing is actually sent. Your builds are listed under Builds in your dashboard.
What are cheat cards?
A cheat card is the one-page version of a lesson: when to use the idea, its steps, the numbers worth remembering, the terms and a checklist. Each course has a grid of them that you can filter by chapter, or narrow to your pinned or weak cards, and print.
Pin the cards you want close at hand. Pinned cards show up on your Agenda, weakest first. Full cheat cards come with the Reader plan and above.
The lesson studio
Reading, notes, shortcuts and settings inside a lesson. · 4 articles
What keyboard shortcuts can I use while reading?
In the studio, J and K (or the arrow keys) move between lessons or slides, Space scrolls, and A opens or closes the AI tutor. Cmd+K or Ctrl+K opens the command palette, and G opens the slide menu.
Press ? anywhere in the app to see the full list of shortcuts for the page you are on. Keys do not fire while you are typing in a field.
How do I change the text size, font or theme?
Open the reading settings from the studio (the shortcut is the comma key) or go to Settings, then Appearance and Reading. You can change the theme, font family, font size, line height, spacing and content width.
There are also options for a dyslexia-friendly font, high contrast, reduced motion and focus mode. Changes apply as you make them.
How do I save notes, bookmarks and highlights?
Select text in a lesson and a small toolbar appears. Choose Highlight, Bookmark or Add Note to save it. Everything you save is collected under Notes and Bookmarks in your dashboard.
These features are included on plans that offer them. If you do not see them, check your plan in Settings.
How do I report a mistake in a lesson?
Select the text in the lesson and choose Report (or Send feedback) from the toolbar. Tell us what is wrong or confusing and send it.
Your report is tracked, and when our team reviews it you can see what happened with it. For problems with the app itself, such as something that is broken, use the Help menu instead.
AI tutor
Atlas, your tutor inside every lesson. · 5 articles
What is Atlas, the AI tutor?
Atlas is the AI tutor inside every lesson. It knows which lesson you are reading, so you can ask it to explain an idea another way, give an example, or help you connect a concept to something you already know.
You can also select text in a lesson and choose Explain, Summarize or ELI5 to have Atlas break it down for you.
How do I ask the tutor a question?
Open the tutor from the lesson toolbar or press A, type your question and send it. You can pin the tutor to the side of the lesson or show it as an overlay, and you can start a new chat or reopen an earlier conversation from the history.
Suggested questions for the lesson appear when you open it. If an answer is cut short, choose Continue the answer.
Why does the tutor say I have reached my limit?
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of tutor turns, and a turn is one question you send to Atlas. When you use them all, the tutor pauses until your allowance renews.
Higher plans and the ATLAS add-on include more turns. The pricing page lists what each plan includes, and your question stays in the box so nothing is lost while you decide. Settings › Usage shows how many you have used and when they start again.
Can I trust the tutor's answers, and what does it know about me?
Atlas is an AI and can make mistakes, so check important facts against the lesson. If an answer looks wrong, ask it to show its reasoning or report the lesson text if it seems to be the source.
The tutor sees the lesson you are reading and your question. It uses details you shared about yourself only after you confirmed them, and you can change or remove those in Settings. The Privacy Policy explains how data is handled.
What does Atlas remember about me?
If you allow it, Atlas keeps a few short notes between sessions: a goal you mentioned, how you like things explained, or a misconception worth revisiting. It uses them to tailor later answers.
Settings › Atlas AI lists every memory. Delete any line and it is removed at once, or turn memory off: Atlas then answers every question fresh and keeps nothing from the conversation.
Quizzes and flashcards
Practice, review and your daily plan. · 5 articles
How do quizzes work?
Quizzes appear in lessons and as part of your daily plan. You answer one question at a time, submit, and see whether you were right along with an explanation.
At the end you see your score, strengths, and areas to review. You can retake a quiz at any time, and your results feed your concept mastery.
What is AI feedback on open answers?
Some questions ask you to write an answer in your own words. On plans that include AI feedback, your answer is evaluated and you get strengths and suggestions for improvement.
If your plan does not include it, you still see the correct answer and the explanation.
How do flashcards and spaced repetition work?
Flip a card to see the answer, then rate how well you knew it: Hard, Good or Easy. The harder a card was for you, the sooner it comes back.
Cards that are due are counted in your dashboard, so you can see when a review is worth doing.
What does “due” mean, and why does my review mix topics?
EducationPals spaces your reviews out. Each flashcard, quiz question and weak concept gets a next-review date, and on that day it is due: the moment recalling it does the most good. Items you get right come back after longer gaps; items you miss come back sooner.
A review session mixes what's due across your courses instead of drilling one topic at a time. Switching between topics feels harder, and it is how you learn to tell ideas apart and recall them later. The Agenda shows what's due today and how long the session takes.
What is the Agenda?
The Agenda is your plan for today. It suggests what to do next, such as continuing a lesson, reviewing due flashcards, strengthening weak concepts or taking a quiz, and shows how many minutes each takes.
It also shows your streak and any overdue cards. Open it from the dashboard, and enroll in a course first so it has something to plan around.
Progress and achievements
Progress, XP, streaks and badges. · 5 articles
How can I see my progress?
Your dashboard shows each course with its progress, and Resume Reading takes you straight back in. The Progress and Analytics pages show your study activity over time.
Some analytics features depend on your plan.
What are XP, levels and streaks?
You earn XP for learning activity such as reading, quizzes and flashcard reviews. XP raises your level, which moves through bands from Starter to Legend.
Your streak counts consecutive days you study. It restarts when you miss a day, and the next session starts a new one.
What does “mastered” mean?
A flashcard or concept counts as mastered once you have recalled it correctly across several spaced reviews and it has become easy for you. Mastered items still come back, just less often, so they stay fresh.
If you miss a mastered item later, it goes back to learning and returns sooner. Analytics shows how many items you mastered in each period.
How do I earn badges?
Badges unlock as you reach milestones, such as finishing courses or keeping a streak. When you earn one you see a short celebration, and you can replay it later.
Open Achievements in your dashboard to see the badges you have earned and the ones still locked, with your progress toward each.
How do I manage notifications and my daily goal?
Notifications such as study reminders and achievements appear in your Inbox. You can choose which ones you get in Settings, under Notifications.
If your account offers a daily goal, set it in Settings, under Learning.
Plans and billing
Plans, subscriptions and payments. · 5 articles
What does the free plan include?
The free plan lets you browse the course catalog, take the Start Here course, and use quizzes, flashcards and the Agenda. It stays free and does not need a card.
Other courses, bookmarks, notes and highlights, and larger tutor allowances come with paid plans.
What plans are available and how do they differ?
There is a free plan, a Content plan that unlocks the full course catalog, an ATLAS add-on that adds more AI tutor turns, and Team plans for groups.
The pricing page shows the current prices and what each plan includes. Prices and allowances can change, so check there rather than relying on an older note.
How do I subscribe or upgrade?
Open the pricing page, or Settings then Subscription, choose a plan and complete checkout. Your plan activates as soon as the payment is confirmed, and you return to your dashboard.
If you already have a plan, you can add the ATLAS add-on from Manage add-ons. When you switch plans, you see a confirmation first.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Go to Settings, then Subscription. Choose Cancel Subscription to stop renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account moves to the free plan.
If you change your mind before then, choose Reactivate Subscription. Use Manage Subscription to update the plan or payment details.
I paid but my plan has not changed. What should I do?
Activation can take a short moment after payment. Wait a minute, then refresh the page. A banner confirms when your plan is active.
If it still shows the old plan, check that you signed in with the same account used at checkout. If that does not fix it, contact us from the Help menu and include the email on your account.
Teams
Learning together under one plan. · 5 articles
What is a team and who is it for?
A team lets a group learn together under one plan. A team has an owner, admins and members, and seats that are filled as people join.
You always have a personal workspace that is just you. Use the workspace switcher to move between your personal workspace and a team.
How do I create a team?
Go to Settings, then Team, and choose Create a team. Name it, and you become its owner and admin.
A new team has room for you only. To invite others, the team needs a Team plan, which you can buy from the same page.
How do I invite people to my team?
Team admins can invite people from Settings, then Team. Enter their email address, choose a role and send. They receive an email invitation to join.
You can see and revoke pending invitations. If all seats are taken, remove someone or revoke an invitation to free one.
What are team roles and seats, and how do I leave a team?
Roles are Owner, Admin and Member. Admins invite people and manage members; the owner owns the team. Seats are the places on the team plan; invited and current members use them.
To leave, open Settings, then Team, and choose Leave team. Owners cannot leave, and the only admin must make someone else an admin first. Leaving ends your access to the team's plan.
Can my team sign in with single sign-on (SSO)?
Yes. A team owner or admin first verifies the company's email domain in Settings › Team, then requests single sign-on there, choosing the identity provider type (SAML or OIDC). The EducationPals team turns it on and contacts you to finish the setup.
The status in Settings › Team shows Requested until the setup is done, then Active.
Account and privacy
Your profile, security and data. · 5 articles
How do I update my profile, password or two-factor authentication?
Go to Settings. Profile has your name, photo and email addresses. Security has your password, two-factor authentication with an authenticator app, and your active devices, which you can sign out.
Passwords must be at least 8 characters.
How do I download my data?
Go to Settings, then Privacy, and choose Export Data. You can download your personal data, including progress, notes, bookmarks and settings.
The Privacy Policy explains your other rights and how to contact us about them.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings, then Security, and choose Delete account in the Danger Zone. You are asked to type your email to confirm. This permanently deletes your account and the data associated with it, and it cannot be undone.
If you have a paid plan, cancel it first in Subscription so billing stops. The Privacy Policy describes how deletion is handled.
How do I change my cookie choices?
Use the Cookie Preferences link in the footer, or go to Settings, then Privacy. You can accept or decline optional cookies at any time, and your choice is recorded.
Essential cookies are always on because the app needs them to work. The Cookie Policy lists what is used.
How do I change the language or accessibility settings?
The interface is available in English, Spanish and Hindi. Change it in Settings, under Reading and Language.
Settings, under Accessibility, covers keyboard navigation, focus indicators, high contrast and screen reader optimization, and the studio has a dyslexia-friendly font and a reduced motion option.
Troubleshooting
When something does not work. · 4 articles
A page or lesson will not load. What can I try?
Refresh the page first, and check your connection. If it still fails, sign out and back in, or try a private window to rule out browser extensions.
If only one lesson fails, tell us which course and lesson in a report so we can fix it.
I cannot sign in. What should I do?
Check that you are using the email you signed up with, and use the reset option if you forgot your password. If you used a social account before, sign in with the same one.
Browsers that block all cookies can stop sign-in from completing, so allow essential cookies for the site.
My progress or notes did not save. What happened?
Progress saves as you read, so a lost connection is the most common cause. Reconnect, then reopen the lesson and check again.
Make sure you are signed in, and that you are looking at the same account. If something is still missing, contact us with the course name.
How do I contact the EducationPals team?
Use the Help menu in the top bar to report a bug, ask a question or share an idea. You can also use the Contact page from the footer.
Tell us what you were doing, what you expected and what happened. A screenshot helps.
